【摘要】:ThisPASspecifiesrequirementsforthedesignation,testing,factoryproductioncontrol,installationdocumentationandmarkingfordifferenttypesandconfigurationsoffloodprotectionproducts.ThisPASisapplicabletofloodprotectionproductsintendedforuseinthetemporarysealingofbuildingaperturesandentrancestoproperties,intheeventofstaticfloodwaterrisinguptoalevelbetween600mmand900mmabovegroundlevel,exceptwheretheyaredesignedtocompletelycoverorreplacesmallapertures,suchasair-bricksorairvents.ThisPASisintendedforuseintheUKorlocationswithsimilarexposures,i.e.wherethereisatemperateclimateandadvancedwarningoffloodingisavailable.ThisPASspecifiesthemethodoftestingandanallowableleakagerate.Therangeofbuildingaperturesizescoveredisanominalwidthofupto2400mm.NOTE1Thehydrostaticpressuresexertedbyfloodwatercancausesuddenorlong-termstructuraldamageandunderminethefoundationsofabuildingorcauseleakagethroughthewalls,floororsub-floor,unlessthebuildingisspecificallydesignedtowithstandsuchstresses.Theactualwaterlevelthatcanbesafelyretainedbytheexternalwallswilldependupontheconstruction,type,form,ageandconditionofthewalls.Itisrecommendedthatasuitablyqualifiedbuildingsurveyor,architectorstructuralengineerinspectstheexternalwalls,beforeanyfloodprotectionproductforbuildingaperturesisinstalled.NOTE2Floodprotectionproductsarenotnormallyintendedtopreventwatermorethan600mmto900mmabovethelevelofthegroundsurroundingthepropertyfromenteringthebuilding.NOTE3ThePAStestconditionsrepresenttypicalconditionsthatcanbeexperiencedduringaflood.Thisincludestestingthefloodprotectionproductforleakageunderstaticwaterlevels,wavesupto0.1mhighandparallelcurrentsupto1.0m/s.NOTE4ThisPASdoesnotcovertestingwithcontaminatedorsalinewater,however,productmanufacturersarerequiredtoprovideinformationabouttheperformanceoftheirproductsintheseconditions(seeAnnexC).NOTE5Conformanceofthefloodprotectionproductdoesnotmeanitissuitableforallsituations.IftheuserisinanydoubtastothesuitabilityofafloodprotectionproducttheyshouldseekfurtherguidanceassetoutinPreparingforfloods:Interimguidanceforimprovingthefloodresistanceofdomesticandsmallbusinessproperties[1],orfromtheFloodProtectionAssociation(www.floodprotectionassociation.org)orotherprofessionaladvisers.NOTE6ExtremeloadingconditionssuchasthoseresultingfromturbulentwaterorfromdebrisimpactarenotcoveredbytestinginthisPAS.Ifrequiredintheselocations,thefloodprotectionproductneedstobespecificallydesignedand/ortestedtowithstandsuchstresses.NOTE7ThefloodprotectionproductsdescribedinthispartofPAS1188arenotintendedforinstallationsprovidingpermanentfloodprotection,andattentionisdrawntotheneedtoensureasafeevacuationofpersonsintheeventofanemergencyandtoaccessandegressforpersonswithimpairedmovement.Thesefloodprotectionproductsareinstalledoractivatedintheeventofanimminentfloodandremovedordeactivatedassoonasdangerfromfloodingisover.ThisPASisnotapplicabletothetestingoffoamproducts,suchasthosecomposedwithcompositepolyurethane.ThisPASisnotapplicabletofloodprotectionproductsforinstallationaroundbuildings;thesearecoveredbyPAS1188-3.ThisPASisnotapplicabletotemporaryordemountablefloodprotectionproductswhicharedesignedtobeinstalledawayfromandnotattachedtobuildings,includingfloodprotectionproductsintendedforinstallationacrossdrivewayentrancesandgatewaysatpropertyboundaries.ThesearecoveredbyPAS1188-2andPAS1188-4.
